The Mississippi Delta Hot Tamale Trail honors and celebrates the people who have maintained the tamale making tradition in this part of the American South. Many members of the Southern Foodways Alliance are doing the same. Whether as journalists, historians, or curious consumers, SFA members are out in the field documenting the tradition of hot tamales in the Mississippi Delta. This area features the work of our colleagues who are dedicated to telling the stories behind the food.
