The Tamale Trail focuses on the prevalence
of hot tamales found throughout the Mississippi Delta. A few tamale
vendors are found in other parts of the sate. Here, we feature folks
who make and sell hot tamales from beyond the bounds of the Delta.

of the local fire department, he made tamales on the side.
Today the whole family chips in, hand-filling and rolling
these parchment-wrapped bundles of beef and meal. They even

Originally from Greenville, Tony Mosely grew up with tamales.
When he moved to Jackson, he worked as a mail carrier, but
then he decided he wanted to be his own boss. Tony opened
his namesake tamale business in 1982. His tamales are made
with turkey, wrapped in cornhusks, and have a pretty good
kick. |
